Eight weeks of live Zoom training, twice a week
The course runs for two months with two live sessions each week. The material is taught in a clear order so each lesson builds on what you have already covered and helps you understand how the different parts of the trucking business work together.

Week 1
Understanding the Trucking Business
Business Formation and Startup Planning
Understand how the trucking business works, choose the business model that fits your goals, and work through the first steps of setting up your company, including business formation, EIN, business banking, startup costs, and working capital.

DOT and MC Authority
UCR, IRP, IFTA, and Registration
Work through the registration process, including USDOT and MC authority, BOC 3, insurance filings, UCR, IRP, IFTA, and other registration requirements that may apply to your operation.

IFTA Hands On Training
Taxes, Expenses, and Trucking Finances
Practice tracking mileage and fuel, work through IFTA calculations, and discuss Form 2290, trucking expenses, deductions, cash flow, and the financial records needed to manage the business.

Buying and Financing a Truck

About Your Instructor
Your Instructor: Tricia
Tricia brings more than 10 years of hands on experience in freight dispatching and trucking business operations. As the owner of a trucking company, she has managed multiple trucks, dispatched for her own fleet, and provided dispatching support for other trucking companies. Her experience gives her a practical understanding of what it takes to move beyond simply owning a truck and actually operate a trucking business with structure, systems, compliance, and financial awareness.
Throughout her career, Tricia has worked with the real responsibilities that come with trucking ownership, including dispatching, load booking, driver management, operating costs, compliance requirements, paperwork, broker relationships, and day to day business decisions. She understands the challenges that new trucking business owners face because she has worked through many of those same areas firsthand.
In addition to her trucking and dispatching experience, Tricia holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration. Her business education, combined with years of industry experience, allows her to teach trucking from both an operational and business ownership perspective.
As the instructor for The Trucking Empire Course, Tricia focuses on providing clear, practical guidance that students can apply as they build their own trucking company. Her goal is to help students understand not only how to get started, but how the different parts of the business work together, from business formation and compliance to dispatching, finances, drivers, profitability, and long term growth.
